As a young girl Trisha was beaten and verbally abused by her alcoholic father after saving him from a house fire he started with her twin sister using their powers. Rather then shrink into her self like her sister she presented a care-free face to the world at large. Never wanting to be pitied and looking for acceptance she was the outgoing one who did what others only dared and laughed off any tumbles she took along the way. As she grew up she developed a reputation for being a flakey, air-head who only seemed to be looking for the next party.

As her father’s abuse began to rapidly increase though she finally had enough. Taking her sister they left for a relative of their mother’s who disapproved of their father. Trisha at this time found herself as second mother to her shy and distrustful sister who rarely ever left sight of her. She was also much more open their powers yet it was her sister they tried to recruit instead of her. This angered her for some time until they trained at Xavier’s School of Higher Learning together. Much like her sister she had blocks on aspects of her powers but not nearly as many as Alora making her easily the stronger of the two at the time.

Joining Fed-X she was a forceful personality from the beginning. Her seemingly reckless nature also made her one of the weak points as the team began to gel into a cohesive unit. While counseling the twins Oswald found she was the actually the more insecure of the two and had an almost pathological need for praise and approval from her peers while cultivating a care-free cover. She was also highly jealous of her sister who’d seemed to form a special bond with fellow team mate, Xerox.

Realizing she had problems she began to see a therapist but it turned out to be a ruse by the mentalist Trance. He tried to use these feelings to turn her against the team and her sister but she fought off his control and in the resulting mental battle, temporarily blanked his mind giving him amnesia. Her sister helped her get over these feelings by revealing she was jealous of Trisha herself for being naturally able to meet people and make friends while she struggled to even speak to them without being scared. Together both would start working on both their powers and their history of abuse. This would have a climatic outcome.

When her sister was taken away by Cataclysm the mental link both twins had shared was suddenly cut. While Xerox was frantic in trying to find her she was franticly tying to reconnect. Unused to living without her sister’s mental background noise in her mind she began to have panic attacks and hallucinations until Oswald helped her get control of it.

When Alora did return it was as Inferno, the sum of the pressed rage and hatred she felt towards their father and herself. After brutally defeating the team she mocked her sister as weak and made her relive the former abuse before leaving. Shaken but not deterred she launched an assault deep into her sisters mind the next time they met and freed her sister’s now dormant personality. She was disgusted to find part of Inferno had indeed come from her own mind through their former mental connection.

The new family she had seemed to be falling apart though. Members were leaving as her sister was in a coma while her lover, Xerox seemed lost to the mutant terrorist, Magneto. Needing to ground herself she took a leave of absence and went to California where she made friends with Louise, a member of a local coven of witches. While not having psychic powers Louise seemed to know something was wrong and after long talks began to undo the knots in Trisha’s stomach. Revealing her mutant powers to her Louise was unimpressed as she liked Trisha for herself long before she knew what she could do. Feeling refreshed, Trisha picked up Brock and her sister and began to search for Xerox eventually finding him on a deserted island. Happy to be reunited with her friends and sister jealousy again stirred as her sister embraced her lover again.

After Xerox’s return she was placed in charge of the newly created Team Blue. Her sister though wouldn’t be with her causing some anxiety. Working through her jealousy again she helped the two lovers be together despite the new rules from Rem Quesada who replaced Oswald as Team manager. The responsibility of ensuring the teams safety seemed to mellow her wild streak out and mature her as a leader and a woman. The entire time she was constantly at odds with Rem about the seemingly bizarre changes he demanded all the teams undergo. After reading his mind she found out his true identity and this was a ruse to weaken and confuse the team. She was then blasted from behind by Dr Malice and captured by Vengeance Unlimited along with the rest of Fed-X. With her sister she began to plant seeds of doubt in their ranks until they broke into open fighting with each other.

When Alora was kidnapped again by Cataclysm after being split up to derail his plan to cause a global nuclear war she feared for the worst. Seeing Inferno again he felt she had failed her sister and her team. Her Mental link to her sister renewed itself though proving Cinder was still in control and Flame let her sister beat the team before incinerating the spore pods Cataclysm had placed in orbit. She watched the heroic sacrifice of Jump with great sadness and placed her Fed-X membership card on her memorial.

Surprised that her sister wanted to be alone after the teams disbanding she agreed to it. Returning to California she renewed her friendship with Louise while attending college at UCLA. While in LA, she began to model and was a quick success in the west coast scene. After her sister came out as a mutant during a televised mutant rally she quickly became a pariah as her modeling gigs dried up for fear of being associated with a mutant. This bred a lot of bitterness in her, not towards her sister, but towards the modeling business in general. It also showed how she grown as she no longer felt she needed everyone’s approval to validate herself. Feeling sorry for their loss she graduated and went back east to live closer to her sister when she got a message from John Talbot that he wanted to reunite Fed-X. She gladly rejoined finding ordinary life to be boring.

While relieved not to be charge of a team she did miss some of the challenges in leadership. She was also found her sister had drastically increased in power and control now making her the stronger of the two twins. Jealousy stirred in her again but died out when she met Jerome St Marie. She felt an immediate connection to the Canadian and vice versa but both held back important information from each other. She was a mutant and unfortunately he was involved in smuggling drugs across the border. While tracking down the distribution for MGH (Mutant Growth Hormone) she found it led back to Jerome. Confronting him he confessed to only helping it get in the states and he was basically a glorified yet very rich delivery boy. Captured by Jerome’s employer she intended to be used as base stock for a new brand of MGH and is rescued by Jerome only for him to be shot as they escaped. Cornered by her he took a large dose of MGH only to have his powers consume him as he panicked when he erupted into flames and burned to death before she could smother the flames.

Weeks following this, Flame was tense and withdrawn when she finally revealed to her sister she felt guilty about wanting him dead and doubts about subconsciously sabotaging his mind to make burn. Cinder dismissed this as she hadn’t fried their father when both could have easily done so any number of times so wanting it didn’t mean she made it happen. Cinder then revealed she patched things up with their father. Trisha was far too hurt to listen to her though and left the Manor.

She came back days later when Vengeance Unlimited attacked the Manor and helped them beat them back. The psychic backlash from M-day nearly overloaded her mind and only her training helped her disconnect. Copying her power though, Xerox wasn’t so lucky. Again guilt wracked her as she protected him and watched Cinder rip the ground apart in a raw display of her power during an attack. With most of the team de-powered she considered quitting but her sister talked her out of it as Alora’s own powers were growing unstable and she needed to leave to regain control of them. Left on her own, Flame struggled to help her former teammates become the X-Patriots and protect de-powered mutants.

Her sister’s wedding brought an unwelcome surprise as her father appeared to give the bride away. Going into his mind she replayed what it was like for them wishing she was dead so she would have to hurt anymore. Going deeper she saw how much pain he been carrying since their mother’s death and relented. While she eventually forgave him she didn’t want him back in her life unlike her sister which disappointed both Gannon’s.

Unlike her sister, Trisha was actually pro-registration at the time the bill came out although partly due to her own doubts about her status on the team. Over the course of several weeks as she saw how they dealt with non-registered heroes she changed her mind. In a confrontation with the Mighty Avengers she and Brock took on Ms Marvel before having to withdraw. Split from the rest of the team and hiding they began to explore a relationship as Brock expressed being attracted to her since they first met in college and originally introducing Xerox to them as a way to get close to her.

After rejoining the team to rescue Xerox, Flame felt happy in her personal life for the first time in a long while. Pretending to surrender to the Bill when the Anti-registration side surrendered she worked with her sister to continue the fight underground. Knocked out by the Hulk shortly before her sister fought him she found out Alora was pregnant when she checked Medic’s mind after she was attacked. She’s currently keeping the fact she knows from her sister, brother in law and the team in general until her sister tells them herself.

Powers and Abilities

Trisha is at least Alpha level mutant with multiple psionic talents under her control. Unlike her sister, she has a wider range of skills but they are not as well developed as Alora’s. Among these are

Telepathy: She can manipulate the minds of others and even higher order animals. Trisha can read thoughts and project her own for up to a range of 200 miles. With a great deal of strain she can extend it further.

  • Telepathic Cloak: She can mask her presence and the use of her abilities from being detected by other psions and psychic entities. She can extend these defenses to others around her as well. Cloaking via telepathy is not perfect and powerful psi’s may notice and 'see' through this ability.
  • Psionic Shield: able to erect a mental barrier for the protection of her or others minds.
  • Mind Control: able to control the thoughts and actions of others. The range and power is dependant on the number of people she is trying to affect.
  • Mental Possession: able to shut done another’s mind and use their body as her own.
  • Mind Transferal: able to transfer her own mind and powers to another’s body if hers could somehow be killed.
  • Mental Detection: can sense the presence of another superhuman mutant within a small but as yet undefined radius of herself by perceiving the distinctive mental engrams emitted by such a being.
  • Psionic Blasts: can project psionic force bolts which have no physical effects but which can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness and can even kill an adversary.
  • Astral Projection: able to project her astral form from her body to the astral or physical plane.
  • Mind Link: ability to develop a mental link with any person which remains as a connection to that individual.

Telekinesis: telekinetic abilities enable her to levitate herself or other objects, propel or manipulate them however she wishes, stimulate individual molecules to create heat, and generate concussive force or protective shields.

Pyrokinesis: Trisha is able to generate flames around her at will and control fire and heat by increasing the molecular vibrations in an object. She can increase any flames intensity and size even those she has not created but only in her line of sight.

  • Fire Manipulation: Trisha can generate shapes composed of fire from any point on her body. She can form fire into long streams, spheres, or even more complex shapes. These flames-objects will only remain their shapes as long as she concentrates upon them. The objects will only burn about 3 minutes before expiring unless Flame continues to infuse them with energy. The temperature of these fiery projections is generally around 2,800 F (near the melting point of iron).
  • Flame Projection: She can fire explosive flame bolts of varying sizes or a concentrated beam that can melt through inch thick steel in seconds. She can also release an omni-directional flame burst with a radius up to 2 miles in diameter. This burst can reach over 1,000,000º F and is highly destructive. After a burst her pyrokinetic abilities are completely drained and she must rest for at least 12 hours afterwards to regain them.
  • Flight: Directing the flames into a jet from her feet she can hover or fly up to 130 mph. While theoretically able to go up to supersonic speeds she can not breathe at such speeds.

Thermokinesis: Flame has the ability to mentally control the ambient heat energy within her immediate environment. By increasing or decreasing the molecular vibration, she can reduce objects' temperatures (if they are in a normal range for existing on Earth's surface) to about 30 F, raise them to several thousand degrees, or extinguish open flames. Her radius of influence is about 50 feet.

Immunity to Fire & Heat: Trisha is unaffected by heat and flames, including her own, even when part of her is aflame and the rest is not. Her flesh cannot be scalded or burned by any heat source whose level is below that of her maximum output. She can feel some discomfort at higher temperatures if she remains for a prolonged period, similar to having heat exhaustion (Nausea, headache). The exact time it takes to reach this point largely depends on the temperature and current physical state she’s in.

Trisha is a highly skilled fighter in the Astral Plane

Strength Level

Trisha possesses the strength of a woman her age, height, and build, who engages in regular moderate exercise.

Her flames depend on oxygen to burn so any object that removes it, Fire-fighting foam, sand, water, etc, can douse them. She can evaporate up to 5 gals into steam while aflame but any more and her flame will die out until she can evaporate the rest.

Equipment: Flame’s uniform is made of unstable molecules to handle the large amounts of heat she can generate.

Transportation: X-Cruiser

Weapons: None Known
